i want something that hasnt been done before on an 85 ive seen convertables and everyone doing paint and suspension projects. I was wondering if there is a way to do a targa top like roof to make my truck unique.

It would probably all be a do it yourself fab job. Once upon a time there were kits offered to do targa and convertible conversions but I haven't seen them advertised in (literally) 20+ years.

i think it was the 80 blazer that had a targa top option would that be transferable to the pickup if i could find a top at a junkyard somewhere

seen one in a magazine way back in the show truck days that had t-ee tops in it.

also seen roof/back glass area pop off kits . makes them like a 73-75 no top blazer.

Oh that you would know, it's ageless.
Targa was an option on european cars where the top part of the top was a soft top, not a convertible.
Some later had them in removeable plastic or steel, or in the case of the honda civic it was retractable.
Toga, I am sure you know what that is.:D

Targa top

Interesting idea, but I'm wondering if it will just end up looking like a full vert '73-'75 with a rollbar...

It's funny I was going to say that porche did a lot of targa cars, didn't realize they came up with it.
I remember those 914's all too well, always dreamed of owning one.
