What are your thoughts about the inline 6 engine? I found one in a squarebody. It seams like it would be much easier to work on the inline 6 as every thing is readily accessible.

maybe if it were a ranch truck pulling light duty? road travels, pulling, hard off road use... meh.

everyone I've known with one has ended up pulling them out and putting a 350 in...
I've played with a bunch of Toyotas with the F and 2F engines (direct rip off of the gm design)

they feel torquey in low range, but end up winded and lacking power for most things I'm interested in these days.

dodge slant 6, yes.
Ford 300, yes.
Cummins 12v, yes.
Jeep 4l or 4.2l yes

Chevys, meh....But the boys on engine power did build one with a turbo. Sounded like an airplane taking off...

The 292 non integral head is a gem of an engine. I love the inline 6 anyways, but the 292 is able to be a very fun engine. With a ton of money of course.

Toyota didn't "rip off" the GM 6 cylinder...they struck a deal with GM. The feeling was the Toyota would be more easily welcomed with the super familiar GM 6 cylinder, and it was.
