I have a set of ORD F250 shock towers pretty much ready to go on my 87 K5.

Here is what I did and looking for rest of info from you guys.

Cut the rivets that held the front brake line brackets to frame so I could get just past the hump for stock shock mounting and needed a flat surface.

Now whats the best way to install them because I need to set the shock at around 5 1/4 of shaft showing. So what is best route to get the shock where I need it as in length wise and then to least get one hole drilled through bracket and frame.

Know I am over thinking this at the moment and will come to me if a few when I relax and think this through.

Can't help you on mounting. Curious if there is anything special about the ORD version? Or are they just reselling the ford part?

I just bolted the shock to the tower and followed the natural line up at the exact same angle the original shock was

Measure collapsed shock length from eye to eye, then add 5 1/4 inches. Take tape measure and measure from mounting hole on axle to where you want new tower. Hold tower upper mounting hole to that measurement and mark where you want the first hole to be on the tower and also on the frame where tower sides meet so you can put it back in the same location. Drill hole on tower. Hold tower up to match marks on frame you made and mark where you drilled the hole in the tower and mark the frame. Drill hole in frame. Mount tower with first bolt. Mark where you want the second bolt on tower and drill through both tower and frame.
I'd also bend any extra length of the tower so it rests against the bottom of the frame and put a bolt there too just so it doesn't tear through the frame or crack it. Don't know if that's been an issue in the past but that's just me being cautious.
