Thoughts on truck tires?

[ QUOTE ]
I would drive one of the new Nissan trucks though, lot's of power.

[/ QUOTE ]

So would every other American. That's why, soon, there won't be any American cars if we keep going down the road we're going.

You couldn't give me a foreign car. I don't care if it's the most reliable, low maintenance, econoboxes on the planet. I believe in spending it where I make it and that will never change.

One of my best friends is the asst. manager at a local Firestone store and he recomendes the Bridgestone Dueler.

Yep, my mom was going to buy one so I test drove it. I was hooked! Honestly, I'd have one for a DD even though it's a gay looking Volkswagon just for the 50 mpg, and hard to beat the cool factor of a Diesel.

Are VWs not German anymore? You seem to have a double standard here (among other things). Sorry to the original poster for going off topic.

[/ QUOTE ] I respect your opinion Tim. I also belive in American vehicles. Tires, I've never bought anything without a american name, but I don't know where alot of them are made. For cars I tend too go with what they have at Firestone because I have a good friend working at a local store and get a nice disscount.

I did this debate a long time ago when I first got my tires, I chose to get the Yokohama Geolander A/T+II .

I first saw them on a buddys truck (1badv10) and liked them, so I got me a set for around 122 a peice and haven't regretted it.

tread life is rated to 40k and they are tough tires, can be loud at highway speeds tho but nothing a good sterio wont cure, they can handle offroad decently as well but dont get crazy cuz they are "all terrain" .

Good luck.

id say slap some 44" boggers on there /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

but seriously i would go with the bfg a/t's

I had a set of AT/S's on my blazer for 60K+ miles, could not be happier with them, wore like iron and still have 3/16" worth of tread, self cleaning lugs actually work, TONS of bitting edges, plus they look cool.
Buddy has them on a DD as well, he towed a camper to the Badlands, drove around the badlands in the quarry, sand dunes, a couple of the creek trails and towed the trailer home at the end of the weekend /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif He's got 55K on his and he is getting ready to have another set put on /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif Definalty checkout the wrangler AT/S's /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif

The Americans do not produce a compeditive product to the TDI Jettas, so it eliminates options.

Tires, there are plenty of American options.
