Thoughts?

The 67-72 K5 body had round wheel wells...so they got that right. Everything else is wrong AF IMO. I have yet to see any old/new mash up that didn't look terrible. I think this why ICON gets the money they do for the vehicles they build. True to the original, but the entire powertrain and interior and 'options' all spectacularly integrated.

Wonder how much it would change the look if it had a blue a pillar?

I really appreciate the level of work put into this and the level of detail but I really don't think the body lines work together enough to be "right". I'm also in the camp of putting modern drivetrain in an older body ftw

Nope. Didn't like the 4 door version and while the 2 door version took more effort it still don't look right. I think it's the massive windshield take that kills it.

Im having a really hard time deciding if this is real...
-was the thing built and exists?
-is it a bunch of full-size stuff that's been photoshopped to death?
-RC car or model somebody built and used a long portrait lens with short depth of field?
-or one of the new smart phones with mulitple lenses and a combination of software to imitate the above??

something about the photos doesn't look right.
all that aside, im undecided as a concept. in general i dislike classics getting butchered... but, on the other hand... its really shiny.

Saw this photo for build confirmation. Yes some of these photo filters are ridiculous.

ugh. its real??
photography FAIL. someone tried so hard they failed.

loose the wheels. Fail.

something about the hood and the swept/ aerodynamic windshield is not working together in a very bad way. also the white top is FUBAR

better than anything ive ever done, but to win me over this needs:

-different hood- probably start with a newer more roundy truck hood. maybe even the stock tahoe hood
-different paint. maybe the same blue over the whole vehicle, and silver racing stripes, or white/silver pinstriping somewhere
-needs to sit several inches higher, like stock plus 2 inch
-stock rally style wheels (not so damn big -17inch max), or stock wheels with the huge boxy covers (early/mid 1980s i think), and must be color matched- blue wheels with blue and chrome caps.

better be something powerful with good fuel economy under the hood, and this thing needs to be quiet and comfortable on the road.

I think this is the best attempt i’ve seen so far, but i think they should have done a modern take on the original front/rear so that it is all the same era (similar to the new bronco). Trying to graft the old face and tailgate/tail lights onto the new curved body lines just looks off.
