Heading to Pismo middle March, Rugged Radios is hosting us again this year, the official Manx club March run.
Been running my buggy around town, and she wouldn't idle cold. Carb has been untouched for at least 5 years. Only air filters.
I decided it could use a good cleaning. Ripped it of today tore it down cleaned it up, not as dirty as it could have been, many many hours off road.
For the most part, it runs great. Ever so often I'd need to feather the throttle to keep it running on steep grades and off camber. My theory is the bowl vent spilling into the venturi.

You can see the hole here.
I added a sort piece of 5/16 steel tubing.

Then a piece of pvc clear vinyl tubing

The finished product. Almost have to flop to spill fuel out the bowl vent now
This isn't just a dune buggy issue. All carbs have bowl vents. So if your off roader gets fat, or runs crappy off camber or steep inclines, might be bowl vent spilling
