Three sets of shocks in the rear old ranchos?

Picked a vehicle up that had what I thought was kind of cool, has three shocks on each rear wheel, I’m getting this ready for a trail rig and was wondering how terrible these things are/were. I want to take it out in a few weeks and mess around before I start taking the suspension apart.

those were made to act as a traction bar to keep the axle from twisting under acceleration or to control axle wrap. known as kicker shocks

That's the second k5 I see with those here in CA

The traction shocks and traction bars (same as the shock but a solid rod) were definitely a thing in the late 80’s to early 90’s.

I hadn’t seen them before, I tried looking them up by part number, manufacturer and by model and couldn’t find anything. They don’t look good for articulation that’s the one thing I knew looking at them
