has anybody run one on the nbs with a 5.3, been thinking about getting one

Scam.

Throttle body/carb spacers only work with injection systems that have the fuel injectors before where the spacer goes. Pretty much every V8 after OBD-II in 1996 has fuel injectors at the cylinders instead of in the throttle body. Thus the "extra swirling effect/extra space for the air and fuel to mix/extra space for the air to cool/etc etc etc" does nothing as it's just another half inch to an inch for the air to move.

Spend the money on a free flowing muffler.

ive got 2.5in true duals with hooker aero chambers, just wanting some more power for towing

Truck Nutz will give you as much extra power as a throttle body spacer will on an engine with the fuel injectors at the cylinders.

Considered headers?

What are you trying to tow? The 5.3L is kinda high strung to be a towing motor.

Ajmblazer- truck nutz:haha:, the headers i want are too expensive, ill be towing an 86k10 every once and awhile

redneckdude- thanks ill have to check them out

Well, I get so pissed I guess seeing them marketed to people with vehicles that really can't use them. It's a ****ing scam really. Might as well buy some truck nuts for half the price or even less and get no performance gains but realize you won't anyways.

Nothing short of a blower or just about every bolt on upgrade you can get will really make the modern engines all that much better. The factory has them dialed in for longevity and reliability along with good gas mileage and power. You can tweak them a bit but it's not like you can see drastic power increases for low amounts of money any more.
Frankly I don't even bother anymore. I tried that game with my first Blazer and spent probably a grand and got little to nothing. Now the modern vehicles just get a free flowing air filter and a free flowing muffler. A high flow cat if it needs a new one. Otherwise just enjoy the reliability, power, and mpg the modern engines give and don't try to use them for things they weren't meant to do.

i know, all this junk they put on the new cars and trucks now days, they are trying to make trucks perform like cars

my trucks got pleanty of power im just worried if i go on a long trip how it will pull the beast around
