i don't know if you are aware, but what i've done is to swap in a 4.3 v-6 where there was a small block v-8. (weird, i know, but it's basically all in with only a few more things to do so it's basically too late to turn back now.......)
Basically, apparently, on a 4.3 v-6, the carb sits further back than on a v-8. So i could not use the stock throttle cable. So i went with a Pioneer Automotive products part # CA 8508 which was listed to fit. Well it doesn't really fit well and doesn't work well.
So..........:
1) Try to find a N.O.S. or used stock cable for a 4.3 on ebay---not likely since the carbed version of this engine was only produced for two years---while the fuel injected ones have been produced for like 30 years now. (Actually, would a TBI cable work well for a carb?)
2) Go with a custom cable such as Lokar, but their website isn't real clear; i'd like to be able to use the GM style clip mounts AND GM style ends---at the carb end there is basically blade with a hole in it and you just put it over the stud and secure it with a clip.
3) Shorten the stock v-8 cable. But how?
4) Any other suggestions would greatly be appreciated.
