anyone thrown on a p/u tailgate and if so what were the probs you ran into....fyi going w/ a soft top

Piece of cake as long as you get all the hardware with the tailgate. You will probably want to seal it up somehow to prevent dust and fumes from entering when the soft top is closed up. I used a sealing strip for pickup tailgates with a shell, from J. C. Whitney.

yeah steve is right.
this is easy as pie
all the holes are there. When you pull your donor tailgate get all the brackets. Make sure you get the rubber snubbers from the donor too or the dealer or LMC or J.C. Whitney should carry them also. I picked up an 76-79 tailgate and hardware from a U-pull-it yard. Talk about less weight!
