Yeah I have a few of these, I would trade all three for a banksThats a 6.5 unit. It can work, but requires reworking the a/c unit on a square body.
Be careful, the last time I said that with an engine that was ticking really bad it went for 12 years and counting.I'll run the 6.2 until it dies, then go with a big block.
I don’t think I could ever get a big block to drive this wellIf i get the opportunity im going 5.9l cummins.
I absolutely love the big-blocks but their just ain’t no comparison to a proper 5.9 Cummins that has low end grunt to spare and pulls so well.I don’t think I could ever get a big block to drive this well
Why, just why do you have to be like that?I absolutely love the big-blocks but their just ain’t no comparison to a proper 5.9 Cummins that has low end grunt to spare and pulls so well.
I’ve had a 83 square with a 454 SM-465 and 4.56 gear as well as a 02 Dodge with a H.O. 5.9 NVG-5600 and a 4.11 gear and as good as the 454 set up was it just could not hold a candle to how smooth and strong the Cummins was - the 454 was not lacking but it’s just that the Cummins is that much better!
If a diesel is desired the 5.9 is a joy to drive.

Don’t get me wrong a big-block has so very much to offer and can be built with wildly varying power curves depending on diesel like power curves of the peanut-ports or great all around power of the oval-ports ( also the killer 8.1 versions ) or lett’n them breath a little with the rectangular ports and if we get into the aftermarket the options are damn near endless. Why, just why do you have to be like that?
I've put so much work into this 8.1litre.
