Throwing in the Towel with my k5 (LS1)

yes if cable throttle you can .

but if electric you cant . no guts to hook one to.

here is dbw pedel and throttle body

modifyed length and pad on pedel i did .

and note broken plug on throttle body . but you get the idea.

and if drive by cable . you just get a cable for a 96-2000 truck with 5.0 or 5.7 vortec motor. clips in cab and throttle body real easy no major mods and its LONG for the length needed.

Got any information to support that claim? Not many ready to run reliably $400 small blocks in salvage yards anymore. LS motors are super reliable, readily available, cheap, and efficient.

Yea, that was kind of an un educated comment. What was the last SBC you have seen that can go 100k miles on a set of spark plugs? 200k on plug wires?

Actually I just replaced my stock cap, rotor and wires on my 250k 350. This motor has given me no trouble, just never the power and mpgs I wanted. I do perfer the old iron look, feel and sound compared to the new motors, but I can deal with all that just to have a better power plant.

You may be telling the truth, but there is no way I will belive that a cap and rotor lasted 250k...

I will find pics, it was the most sloppiest fitting, blackend up, generally raped cap and rotor. If it was on there for a full 250k? Maybe not, but all parts looked just as old as the rest of the motor.
