thrust washers?!?!

i'm just about to put a detroit in my 14BFF and the instructions say "remove thrust washers...." anyways, i think the thrust washers are the washers on the back of both side gears in the carrier? am i correct???

that is correct. the side gear out and the washer that it rides on in the carrier out. good luck.

thrust washers are behind the spider gears.
