So I'm putting together a parts list to rebuild the front end on my 85 K5 and I'm not finding a part # for the tie rod adjusting tube. LMC calls it the adjusting tube, I guess I thought it was called the draglink but what ever. Mine looks like it is bent. As for the tie-rod ends, and the ball joints go , I've used Moog parts in the past on my 66 Chevelle. Are the Moog parts for the K5 the better brand to go with ??? Also is Rockauto the best place to order from?

Moog is great. I am told that the Mevotech that rock auto sells is Moog with a different label. I have used some Mevotech parts and they were good, no issues. Rock auto has been real cheap for me on suspension parts.

Dose anyone know what the part # is for the Tie rod adjusting tube? Rock-auto doesn't list the part.

Rockauto lists
Tie rod adjusting sleeve
Several to choose from
Not the pitman arm one
I got the delco one works fine

Looked at the pic again
Looks like you have the long double ended sleeve
Rock auto lists a doorman part 532743
Looks kinda weak tho

Did k5s all come with that style of tie rod that year?
When you part search mostly the short sleeve parts come up

Yeah that's what I'm finding nothing looks like what I have, so I'm not sure.

Swetty's suggestion is good, go on ORD's site and look at they're tie rods
They r heavy duty

Are you planning on wheeling this? If so, I would give either DIY4X or ORD a call and get one of there upgraded HD tie rod set ups

Well I just picked this up last week. So my plans are to get it set up as a daily driver for my 14 year old to drive when he turns 16. I will probably drive it once or twice a week for the next couple of years. It won't be a hard core off road rig, just a nice driver.

I hope that means you are going with the ORD or DIY set up. Seriously, skip the stock replacement tierod and adjustment sleeve.
