So when I bought my 73 back in July, it had a bent tie rod, and it doesn't really affect the driving other than when I hit a bump on the passenger side, the whole thing starts violently shaking and I have to brake for it to stop. I know I need to get this replaced but I dont really take it out of the garage much except probably once ever week or two. Its the long connecting rod that links the two tires together and I was just wondering what the cost would be to fix it.

Look at the LMC catalog to get an idea of cost.

The later style (bar with two separate ball joints) used to be a lot cheaper to replace than the earlier style with the rod having one integral ball joint, so it made sense to convert to it. But looking in the LMC catalog a few days back, it looked like the earlier components had come down in price so maybe a fairly inexpensive repair.

not sure I would blame a bent tierod for the shaking, sounds like stuff is loose or misaligned. My TR has been bent for a while and don't plan to replace it

Also, judge the cost of LMC stuff with going aftermarket, like the ORD/ WFO/ ruffstuffspecialties/ etc.

What you are describing is death wobble. Search for the term here to learn about the causes and cures. I drove with a bent tie rod for a year (OK for me that was probably a couple thousand miles, but whatever). After setting the toe it was fine. It's possible the PO already corrected the toe, but it's worth checking because it might help. As said above, though, there are many other issues more likely to be causing your death wobble.
