How do you guys tighten the jam nuts on the OffRoad Design high steer & cross over tie rods?

With no flat spots on the tie rod to put a wrench too, while tightening the tie rod ends jam nuts.

Thank you,
Ed

In my experience once the tie rod ends rocks to the point that it bottoms on the pitman arm or steering arm, you can tighten the nut.

Do you mean I can tighten the jam nut without using a pipe wrench to hold the tie rod, and without causing any damage to the tie rod it self?

snug up one side, crank down the other side, go back and crank down the first side.

The tie rod ends roll until they stop and having the first nut snugged up will keep it all tight enough for you to torque down the other side.

from a guy who has done lots of alignments over the years . . . please put 2 flat spots on these bars per end .

as much as i like ord and there stuff i went the other company's tie rod bar setup for the flat spots . it makes it so much better and faster . not that your setting toe all the time.

If your worried about paint. Put a rag between the tie rod and pipe wrench hook & heel, or teeth. Double or even quadruple the rag up.
