I need to know the size of a factory Dana 60 tierod. The diameter that is. I am having a piece of flat bar bent at work for my Hydro mount and I need to know the diameter to calculate the bend radius and where to punch the holes to mount the ram.

Thanks

Ira

Never mind, I see the thread is 7/8-18 so the tierod should be 1" or 1 1/16" I think if I put a radius for 1" diameter on the bend I should be able to massage it from there.

The stock tie rod (ES2011R) has 1" diameter shaft. That part number is for the small side anyway. The threads are 1" by 18 pitch. The long side is the whole bar with the tie rod at the end which is one piece. The tie rods that are used by most aftermarket companies for the dual end tie rod is 7/8" by 18. What I didn't look into before I purchased the 1.5" ORD tie rod kit is the size of larger tie rod ends ala Freightliner, Kenworth, Peterbilt, etc. I'm happy with my ORD kit even though it has a 7/8" tie rod.

I just went and measured the factory tie rod from my 1985 D60 and it is 1.130" diameter.

Great thanks guys. I can give the MRs that diameter and they can bend it for me:D. How far should the holes be from the tierod? I am thinking 1.5-2 inches. I guess I need to mock it up and get the ram parallel to the axle housing yes?
