Im gonna be doing crossover on my 10 bolt soon, I have both knuckles because they enter from the top versus the bottom like on my axle. But I am confused as to whether I need the old style tierod or if I can just use the stock one. The Tie rod and ends on the truck now is for a 1983 10 bolt.

You can use the old one, no problem. It won't mind being flipped upside down.

I used my '91 rod on 44 knuckles as it gave slightly more clearance.

Finally got around to the crossover and the leaf springs won't let me put the tierod back on. Guess I gotta use a Zero rate?:mad:

I have Tuff Country 4 inch, I put each end in the respective knuckle, spread it out and started to thread it in but the tierod actually rubbed the spring so I went and bought the old style tierod that was used factory with the flattops. It drops the rod down so it will clear.
