Since My purchase last year I have been trying to get My Jimmy to stop wandering. So I replaced the Tie rods, Drag Link, Added a Borgeson shaft, ORD heavy shackles then had an Alignment. Much better than when I first got it. But it still had some play. I have been casually looking at replacement boxes for the last few months been on the wish list.
Today I replaced My loose Tilt steering column with a non tilt and I swear somehow that seemed to make the biggest difference so far? Is that even possible, either way it saves me getting a new or rebuilt steering box for now.

The column could have been worn, or maybe you fixed something else as you installed it, like some loose hardware or such

Either way, good deal!

I have seen the knuckle worn bad enough to have steering slop. The truck had half a million miles on it though. But you could feel it as a lose section when you rotated the steering wheel.
