Time for brighter headlights

And if you really want to see without going all 1980's with extra lights mounted everywhere - do the euro headlights and then get HID conversion kits for them. Get high beams and low beams and use relays so you can run 4 HIDs at once.
 
so we did the relay upgrades and wow what a difference and i love the 4 lights on for high beams. but im still looking for soem replacement head lights as mine are gettign weak and new is good lol so the silverstars seem like a good deal.
 
ok so i looked at my headlights (i cant remember the name now) and they are a off brand. i searched the net for them but cant find them. i will try to remember to post when i get home...i suck at that part lol
 
I'm eventually gonna do the H4 bulbs from LMC and the heavy duty harness. That's the only good upgrade I could find for my stacked dual headlights.

I was planning on mounting some 55 watt driving lights behind my grille since I have them laying around taking up space, but I figured it would probably look stupid.
 
I've seen a bunch of '70s and 80's Chevys with lights behind the grill, but I never see them turned on. How much light does the grill block?
 
I was worried about that too. I have an aftermarket billet grille that the PO put on, and there's only like a half inch between each bar, so I dunno if any light would even get through there.
 
I saw an HID conversion in a harbor freight flyer for 160 or something, both sides. Sure wish I had the money to try it.
 
i was thinking of putting high output offroad lights behind my grill too, dont wanna disturb the stock look, anyone do it?
 
If you don't want the "euro" clear type you can get a regular type lens sealed beam conversion from these guys: http://eurolamps.com/eurolamps/camaro_headlights.htm

I've spent countless hours on the internet and only found one other place that offers a selaled beam conversion for this style lights, it was some place overseas and was way pricey. By the way the headlamp # is Low Beam H4703, High Beam H4701.
Because of the depth of the headlamp these don't use an H4 bulb, I can't remember exactly but it's like a 9005 or 9006 type.

I bought the Hella H4 conversion setup from www.rallylights.com and they are pretty damn nice. MUCH brighter than stock! Also bought the heavy duty headlight harness from LMC but I ordered the wrong one (quad). My next order through LMC I'll order the right one.
 
I just replaced all 4 of my light's a few hours ago. They are not upgraded, just the Sylvania replacements. Mine died yesterday so I, even repainted the Bezel since it was off. 2 coats of Aluminum, 2 clear. Much better deference, waiting to see how bright in the morning.;)
 
Yep, the Low beam ones are: H4656XV In a purple box. The High beams are: H4651 in a blue box. Got them at Kragen. Their not upgraded like the post intended. Much better than 20 year old head lights..
 
Well my local parts stores dont have any headlights for my 89 so I went ahead and ordered the conversion once from eurolamps.com. $88 shipped to my door. Just for the lowbeams figure if im impressed ill get the high beams as well.
 
If you want to give them a shot, I have a set of 9005 and 9006 PIAA high wattage drivers you can try in those conversion lenses. Same wattage bulbs I am running in my 96.
