Here is mine:

1) what is a range box? Been seing it posted recently but
can't figure what is does...i know its for a 203?

Go ahead others....you know you have "that" question /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

its part of a 203. 203 has 2 sections, the range box which does the gear reduction, and the chain case part that does the actual transfering. Whats unique is that you can unbolt the Range Box from the 203 and thus use it in doublers.

What is the top speeds for 4 low and 4 hi? /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

Top speed is a function of tire size, gearing and redline for the motor you run. The 203's range box has either 1:1 or 2.01:1. Figure out your regular 'top speed' and the cut it in half to figure out 'top speed' in low range.

here is another...i need to change the oil in my 203 but can't see a drain plug /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

There's a guy that raced the desert and regularly ran 100mph in 4hi. Last race he ran, he had a catastrophic failure of the T-Case (208). Wonder if those speeds had anything to do with it?

There is a large round aluminum plate on the rear of the chain case, remove the lowest bolt to drain the oil.

The other rule of thumb I like is "Double rhe RPM, double the speed"...

You don't HAVE to drive to redline to find out your top speed, just drive to half of your RPM limit and make note of your MPH.....then double it.

Yeah, I know......aerodynamics, blah, blah, blah...... so sue me.
