heres what I have:

1973 454 with a th400 both rebuilt recently if i go this way it'd get a new cam and intake.

or a 1993 tbi 350 and 700r4 out of the cop car. this would get a new computer friendly cam and probably resealed.

or the 454 with the 700r4 but there must have been a reason chevy never did it...

or the 350 with a holley and put the tbi on the buggy.

It all depends on your driving style. That 454 is nice for a Burb, if its good keep it.

my driving style? uuummm the gas pedal is either on or off,LOL

right now that 454 and th400 in the truck gets 6-8 mpg (10 on the freeway) and the cop car driven the same way gets me 16-18 (24 on the freeway)

it'll just be a weekend cruiser. i think part of the mileage problem in the truck is the gearing and tires.

i like the 700r4 cuz the deep first gear and nice overdrive, allows you to run deep gears in axles and still have overdrive.

i think id go 350tbi/700r4 and then a 4spd atlas, would be badass

no transfercase in this one, sold the axle and case already. gonna be sitting on 20's and laying frame.

Power is nice but if its just a weekend cruiser and not going to be towing then I say the TBI 350 and 700

well the tbi 350 and 700r4 left tonight, Sold the cop car. so the 73 454 and th400 will be going in the 68. thanks for all your imput guys/gals!!
