Timing Question

I've got a Gm Performance parts 383 in my truck. It says in the book that max timing at 4000 rpm should be 32 max. So my question is what should I set it at idle?

Depends on the advance curve of the dizzy....

set it up at 3500 for 32.. Then just let it idle down and see where its at.. Base timing on a sb is usually around 10. But to have 32 total, it may be a little higher than 10... Unless you change the advance in the dizzy..
