This may sound pretty stupid - but here goes...

So the wind blew a plastic chair into my driver's side door window on the K5 last week (shattered both to pieces).

I called up LMC and the window was $39.99 plus $10 shipping (not bad)

But she asked if it was tinted or not. She said the tinted was a light green. Anyone know if it is the very, very light tinting that alot of windows have?

I know my window doesn't have a dark tint but it might have a very light tint - any way to tell?

When your glass shattered did it have a thin layer of plastic (tint) still holding parts together?

Thats not what they mean, they come from the factory with a slight green tint in the glass, not an actual film, similar to the rear windows of a Burb, it's in the glass, not a film.

What year is your truck, usually most of the newer ones i believe have this "green" tint in them, you should be able to tell actually, it won't be absolutely clear,,kinda hard to explain i guess.

look at a piece of white paper through the other window. If it has a green tint to it, get the tinted glass, if it is white, get the clear....if it is grey, wash your window and start over again.

Thanks all for the input - it looks like it is slightly tinted. It is from a 1991 blazer.

As far as finding one at a yard - I don't have the time right now. I have no idea where the nearest yard is and I would probably have to spend at least $20 for one around here anyway.

I'll just wait for the big brown truck to drop it off or me :wink1:

Look at the logo on the one on the other side. If it says something like "Solar Ray" then it's the tinted version. (Odds are about 99% that it came with tinted windows anyway).
