OK here is the question how many have their driver and passenger windows tinted? I am thinking of tinting mine and I found this company on eBay and the price sounds good. They charge $4.99 and my shipping would be $15.88 (kinda high I know). I checked my state laws on tinting https://www.sunsationalglasstint.com/articles.php?sub=10&type=article .

I think it would be cheaper to buy tint from AutoZone or Walmart and do it your self.

Yea I thought about that but their film comes with a lifetime guarantee never to peel, bubble, crack, fade, and will not change color during the life of your vehicle. SO that alone sounds good to me I have done windows before and it peeled.

You don't want cheap film, thats for sure. I'd use SolarGuard, it's one of the best.

As far as having the windows tinted..... I think when you buy a new vehicle from a dealership one of their questions should be " and what shade would you prefer sir?"

I have tint on every vehicle I own, it keeps it cooler inside and helps the A/C do a better job, goofy nosy people can't look into your truck and at you sitting at a stop light, it keeps the sun off of your neck/shoulder/head, and it flat looks badass from the outside.

I do all of my vehicles with 35% on the roll ups and 5% everywhere else.

My K5 and especially the crewcab gives a great comparison between 35% and 5%, as the backs are a lot darker. With all the windows darker it even makes the windshield look darker and hearly impossible for the nosy folks to peek in.

I did my own from autozone. I used 20%. Its not hard to do it yourself, just takes time and use alot of soapy water from a spray bottle. As long as you keep it wet/soapy, you can move it around etc. To me that is the trick and then take your time and push all the water/air out if it. It takes time but cheaper in the long run IMO.

If you can get precut, go for it. I did mine from Autozone and although I havent had any bubbles or peeling (except where the kids thought it was fun to TRY to peel it off) it was alot of time and some of my corners didnt come out too good. I run 2.5% all around, even over the already 20% factory on the rear windows. I know its illegal, but I like it. I even did a visor strip across the windshield.

Wow, must be like a cave in there.:haha:

mine are all pretty light tho not obvious but you can somewhat tell when I have the window partly down which I plan on redoing when $ allows and when I do one piece windows (figuring I don't change my mind and do tube/modified doors) and have the windows 100% working (passenger no longer goes down) so when I'm near a cop or at night I can put the windows down and open the slider which I'm sure I'd be doing since I had a loner Colorado with the doors tinted around 5% w/manual windows and I hated pulling into my complex at night and couldn't see much out the passenger side. There was also I guy I had some classes with that had a ricer that had 5% on top of 5% on all windows including the windshield which everyone thought was insane since it had to be nearly if not impossible to see at night

It is pretty dark inside. I wouldn't go trail riding at night with windows that dark as it can be hard to see out with limited light.

i second that SolarGuard as mentioned above, i have some 20% on my blazer with no issues. some of the cheaper tints turn purple just an fyi.

Precut is nice. Most tint guys today don't know how to pattern a window. Most use a computer controlled cutter. Take them something from the seventies or eighties and they can't do it.

On my 93 dodge CTD extended cab, I have 5% all the way around. Windows down at night so I can see though.

You cant see me, inside, at noon, even if you are looking through the clear part of the winshield.

Here is their FAQ http://computer-cut-tint.com/frequentlyaskedquestions.html

They say;

Who is the manufacturer of these window tints?

We use a High Performance Film that is manufactured by one of the largest tint manufacturers worldwide. The quality of the film is equal to that of Llumar or Solargard and is scratch resistant and won't fade or turn purple over time. Our films are made in the USA! Help keep America Strong! Buy American products.

Does your window tint film come with a warranty/ guarantee?
Our film comes with a lifetime guarantee never to peel, bubble, crack, fade, and will not change color during the life of your vehicle.

I think that should just about cover it don't you? So I should be pretty set as far as the quality and peeling/fading goes.

when i bought my blazer someone used a cheap tint. it faded to purple. i still buy my tint from walmart :dunno:

Most all tint has a lifetime warranty. Usually, they never hear anything again from a customer, due to most will likely forget who they had their tint done by, when it was, etc... and just leave it, peel it off, or have it redone. Lifetime warranties are a great selling point, like factory rebates. Most people never do send in for a factory rebate....or ever actually use that lifetime warranty.

i dont know what percent it is on my k5 but the other truck was nice and dark, it has an untinted window there actually.:doah: replaced the door. but the k5 is pretty dark on the top and back window.

I have tinted windows myself and had them done for me. I will always chose to pay someone now. The guys I use charge $125 for 3 windows. its not worth my time to mess with it. if its not right I have someone to complain to.

I run 5% on all the back windows and 30% on the driver and passenger doors. tinting the front windows is illegal in PA but I have only gotten one ticket in the 6 years I have had the truck. legally you have to allow 70% of the light through, mine allow 18% :doah:the factory glass has a small amount of tint in it.

i just attepted it for the first time in years and had the same sucess...NO SUCESS!!the wind blew and the tint stuck togher...aka trash...now i remeber why i get someone elce to do it!!!

Was factory tint available on Blazers? I ask because I have factory dark tint on the 4' and door 2 windows on the Burb.
Wait, I don't have the LMC Blazer catalog so I don't know, but the Burb catalog has dark tint glass.
A tree branch broke my RS 4' window, so I fetched one from a J/Y.:D
