The bolts you mean are screws very light weight they hold what's left of the tin piece that fits over the bumper. I thought about widening them but they are real close to the edge of the frame. Check pic.

Carrier

I taken the K5 out a few times with ethe new bolts/washers/loctite holding the bitch together. It seems like a lot less movement than before, but there is still some play with the carrier arm moving slightly front to back and so on. I think a small piece of rubber would stop that. If it wasn't constantly raining I would get a better chance to work on it. Thanks for all of the advice.
