will 44/19.5 boggers clear with 10" lift? if not, how much lift does it take? im not flexing...

id say yes and no, if you trim yes, if you dont no. I had to trim heavily (6" on both sides of the tires) with 39's and 7" lift.

what if i go and put 2" longer shackles on it to make 12" of lift, then would 44's clear? i really want to try to make this work because a guy i know just bought these 44" boggers brand new and decided that they are to big and he wants smaller tires. so he said he will trade me straight up for my 38.5 boggers :eek1:. i just cant refuse the offer :D

You would need a 4" longer shackle to get an extra two inches of lift.

A 2" shackle would give you only 1" of lift.

sorry, thats what i meant about the shackles. as far as cutting, there is no way im going to cut any sheet metal. my truck is way to clean and purty:D. its either gotta clear or go higher :wink1:

Edit: i dont know how much of a difference it makes but i do have my front axle moved 1.5" forward

bolt them up and see. do you wheel it? if not you might be able to get away with 12" lift if it stays on the street

they will fit fine, some people run 19.50" on a stock h1 rim (7-8" wide)

:eek1: really? doesnt it balloon the center of the tire out rediculiously? im eventually going to get atleast 15x12 or 15x14, but i have to wait till i go 1 ton so i can buy 8 lug wheels :D

I'm a firm beliver in HUGE tires. I sold a guy a 3/4T 4x4 chevy PU a few years ago that had 4" suspension + 3" body lift(7" total), I had been running 35's but he put 40" Ground Hawgs on it with a butt-load of fender trimming in the front. I think that you should mount one up & try it if you can, you might be suprised at how much tire your rig can swallow especially a street oriented one. BTW, theres a little bit of metal on the inside of your fender that can easily be trimmed without being noticeable from the outside, does make a difference(thats how I fit 33" thornbirds on 10" wide wheels with no lift).

I say try it out! Inquiring minds want to know! :D

edit: you can also get an idea of clearances by measuring your tire, then the new tire, then figure out the difference, divide that number in half. Whip out your tape measure and hold it up there at the places you think it might hit & see how much room 'ya got!

ur gona run the 44's on ur 10b's for now??? i dont think they will even last on the street, and you are definitely gona kill your balljoints real fast. what gears do u have in ur 10b's? your tranny is going to hate you if you have anything less than 5.13's with a tire that huge

yeah, 10bolts for now, and yes, the gearing is really high. i dont know exactally what they are but im guessing something between 3.08's and 3.73's? its going to suck, i know. but like i said, im going atleast 4.56's with 1 tons and i also have a 465/205 when the 700r turd/208 lets go :D

Even 4.56's would be a dog with 44's. I am running that ratio with 38's and its not to bad but it could use just a little more umph. 4 inch longer shackles would be a little scary in my opinion.

WOW your trucks goin nowwhere, i would say its a good deal and go for it, but i dont think you have the right setup for those tires. Your gonna hate it when you start blowin sh!t up.

he said hes got a 465/205 to swap in, so 4.56-4.88s might be alright with that tranny cuz the granny gear. but until that gets swapped in its going to suck. you probably have 3.42's, and with 44's, you'll be swappin the axles and tranny in very soon, if not the same day you put the tires on. just be prepared

It will probably be fine cruising the mall or sitting under a tree at a truck show, where this truck will obviously be. I do find it kind of funny that he is worried about tire wear of running the 44's on a 10" wide tire, but doesn't seem too concerned about running 10-bolts and stock gearing.

im not worried about anything drivetrain related because like i said, i have everything sitting here ready to be swapped. once something breaks, it just gives me reason to get it done. i hardly ever drive the truck, its out of inspection right now and probably wont be inspected for another month or two. at that time, ill most likely have the 465 in anyway. so its not going to be driven much, if any with the 700r/208. also, im most likely going to run the 10 bolts till they break :D

Or you could run it in 4Lo, that would be like 8.92:1 gears! Thats plenty low for 44's!! According to my handy dandy gear ratio calculator thats 2900rpm @61mph in OD with a 7004r(.70od)., or in 3rd gear(1.00:1) its 4100rpm @60mph. Soooooo, it could technicly work that way. Better for the Dairy Queen trips! BTW, I have been known to own sky-high trucks w/huge tires that did little more than go to Dairy Queen! So I'm not casting stones!

HaHa!
