Any input will be appreciated. I am in the market for some tires and was planning on going with 38.5/15-15 Boggers, but saw a deal on some Pitbull Maddogs. Anyone have pro/cons between the two cuz the Pitbulls are cheaper than the boggers,.....

EDIT: Just called and they can do under 1k shipped for 4. Should I pull the trigger?

I would be leaning more to the pitbulls. Ran boggers before, need a good motor to get them spinning in the nasty stuff. Pitbulls look like more of a trail tire to me.

That's tough. I have heard good things about the pitbull but the bogger looks so good! I would go bogged if I could afford the difference. What's the price for 4 boggers shipped?

One of the vendors on here told me he could get me 38.5/15-15 Boggers for $1242.64 shipped which is a pretty good price but the Pitbulls from 4wheelersupply are $994.50 shipped so that's why I am asking. 250 bucks can get me a few more parts I need so:confused:

I know that Boggers are some of the worst tires out there for street use, including handling, ride comfort (hard to balance and just rough), and wear. The 38.5x15 size is also rather small compared to other similiar size tires.

No first, or even second, hand experience on the Maddogs but I'm guessing they are a completely different tire. They at look to be a much more civilized (i.e. street friendly) tire.

by buddy slapped a new set of 38.5-15 boggers on his 72k5 not balanced just like every tire that has been on that truck. He said it rode 10x better then the sx of the same size even when the sx's were brand new, so I went for a ride and it was impressive considering the truck. Maybe the newer compound rides nicer.:dunno:

They are expensive. Look up a 38 radial.

exactly, bang for the buck is key here:wink1:. The guy at 4ws said they have had maddogs on their H1 for 28k miles now and they're still good. He said they are not like most bias ply tires on the market as far as flaking, coming apart, handling, etc. on the street.

From my experience the only tire worse on the road than a Bogger is the SX. So I guess in that perspective the Bogger's could very well be 10x better, so slap on a set of balanced BFG's or something and I bet they would feel 10x better than the Boggers.

Well I went ahead and ordered the Pitbulls so we'll see when they get here. Also gotta run to Mississippi this weekend to pick up a D60 and 14FF. After that, a couple beers and a sawzall should get me in business.:D
