I have a 86 K5 and want to put 33's on it. To do this, will it need any kind of lift or will they clear at stock height?

Oh, you will be able to ride down the street with them but if you turn a sharp radius they will rub as well as if you get one wheel stuffed up in fender well of either side of the truck.
You'd be best at installing a lift of some sort. 2" for mostly street and light mud or a 4" for some simi moderate trail riding.

I ran 32's with no lift. It didn't rub in turns or offroad as far as I remember. 33's will fit with no lift. I would have run 33's but I have a set of running boards that they would not have cleared. It is possible that they will rub, but not sure. Now I have 2.5 inches of lift, and after my 32's wear out I am getting 33's. The 32's look a little small on 2.5" sometimes to me. 33's would look great.

i have 33 and no lift they key to no rubbing is the offset of the rim i have a positive offset and do not rub at ALL i scorred 704 on a 23 degree rti ramp and still did not rub i also wheel fairly hard no rock crawling but still get fairly flexy take a look at the pics and videos in the links in my sig

I got a 4 " lift and run 35's and I rub when off road in deep gullys or hard uphills. A buddy of mine has 35 MTR's and he claims never to rub and we go to the same places but all he has is a one inch ( hockey puck) lift. Sounds weird to me. But you should be okay unless you hit the trails hard.

I ran 33's and running boards on stock wheels with just an add a leaf in the front, no problem.
