Hey guys, im looking to get some new tires for my 08 chevy, and i was wondering what you guys think. I have had toyo open country A/t's and liked them. The new tires have to be pretty rugged, i drive loggin roads all summer and dont want any flats. Ive had good luck with the open countrys, what do you guys think

Thanks

Tom

Bridgestone Dueler A/T REVO 2! I bet you can find some very happy people who have reviewed this tire online. I have a set of them currently and before them had the original REVO. They are awesome!

X2 on the Dueler A/T Revo. 25k miles on my set and still look great treadwise. Mostly street driven and towing miles, some forest roads and plenty of snow. I have been happy with them in ALL conditions so far. I would think sticky, gumbo mud would be the only place they would not work well but what A/T really would?

ive also had the A/T 2's on my old truck, they kinda have a weird diamond shape design on them in the middle right?

check out the Cooper ST and STT. I bought the ST and am happy so far.

4 @ 35 X 12.50 X 15 for about $800 installed

Yep, same ones i had before, next question, should i keep them in 245 70 16 or go up to 265 70 16?
Guess it just preference

I had a set of these on my burb....and I put about 20K on them and they were almost down to the wear bars.....but dug the mud and snow pretty good.

I would get 8 ply 265/75/16's for your truck.

Tom, if you go 265/70 instead of 245/70 your tire will not only be wider but taller also, as the 70 (aspect ratio) represents 70 percent of 245 millimeters or 265 millimeters. It isn't much but can sometimes make the difference in gear ratios and or fitment. I am sure in your case this will not be an issue. I like a larger filled wheel well but then it all comes down to your wallet. :wink1:

Wow, I have the Revo 1's on my 00 Cummins and they are currently at 71,000 miles, just now hitting the wear bars. I already ordered a set of the Revo 2's, which are now load range E where as my Revo 1's were D in 285/75-16 . I drive approx 30-40,000 each year and tow upwards of 15,000 each year and haul quite a bit as well. I can say nothing but great things about these tires. They have pulled my truck and equipment through the blizzards this past winter (2') and countless muddy construction sites. I do rotate every 5k but I only balanced them when they were first mounted. My truck weighes riht around 7200 and my trailer loads vary from 6k total to 12k.

I was running the 285/75R16 E's when I had my 1st set and got roughly the same mileage you have now. Unfortunately I do very little tire maintenance i.e rotation/balance/align other than keeping a constant pressure. Couldn't be happier! :D

Same here , I don't know that I would try anything else at this point. I have had BFG a/t's (10 ply), michelin ltx's, a set of uniroyals, some yoko's, and a set of goodyear wrangler something or others and until the Revo's I was doing good if I could get 40k before they were shot. The BFG's were good tires and I did get close to 55k with them, but they rode pretty rough and were no better in the elements and IMHO not as good in the east coast type snow/slush/ice mix we usually have.
