right now i'm running 36x12.5x16.5 tsl sx's i only have the 4 and blew out a side wall. i have come across a set of 37X12.5X16 tsl ssr's for cheap. the problem with the ssr's is that 2 tires are 1/3 or so tread, the other 2 are at about half but ones starting to cup on the center lugs.
with my tsl sx's one tire is at about 3/4 and the other 2 are around half,

would i be able to run these 2 different sizes on front and back? i have a 203 and no part time kit but swapped in an axle with manual lockouts on the front.

if i ran in high loc with the hubs unlocked would that be allright and only locked when out playing?
p.s. very broke right now and the 4 ssr's are cheaper then replacing the tslsx with new. i need to decide by tomorow.

You might get a vibration from you front shaft spinning and the hubs not. I have a 208 case with manaul locking hubs. If I drive it in 4hi and the hubs unlocked. I have a vibration coming from the frontend

hmmm i never thought about the driveshaft vibrating, what do you think about the tires?
the ssr's are siped so that will help me with winter coming up but i don't know..

You maybe ok. Mine dosent vibrate to bad but if i get on the freeway it gets worse. I think the tires would be ok they are exactly one inch bigger. Just remember to unlock the hubs when on a hard packed surface

Tire sizes are kinda funny. Heres what I would do. With both sizes off the truck and tire pressure the same measure how tall they are with a straight edge of some sort across the top of the tread. I would say if your within 1" you would be ok as long as you only lock it in when traction is low.

The reason I say this is older fords and dodges used 1 number differ gear ratios front and rear. Such as 4.10 front and 4.11 rear IIRC the taller gear was in the front to sorta pull more than the rear. Therefore you would want to run the taller tire in the front. I could be off base here though and perhaps chevy had differnt ratios front to rear as well and in that case you could run the taller tire in the rear, and that would sorta match them.

Just be sure the weight of the truck isnt on one or the other when you measure them. Who knows they might be very close to the same size.

i would try and match fronts and rears. put the 2 best (same sizes) in the rear and the put the other 2 up front. shouldnt make much difference if the tires are close in size 1" or less.
