Tire Rack

Anyone have or know where I could find a tire rack for my spare?? I kinda want one that mounts on the tailgate that swings out so's you can get to the bed. A roof rack would be kinda cool to, but I don't know how much weight the roof can hold up???? Thanks and /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Roof racks are awesome, though it's a pain to lift the tire up there. I made one for my blazer and had about half a ton up there on several occassions. No damage to the top or anything. Though I would probably recommend going with a swing away bumper, though they can get pretty pricey.

Did you have a roll cage?? I don't have one and that would be able to support a lot more weight than w/o one....

No roll cage, just attached it at the corners of the fiberglass top (or near the corners, I guess). I've got some pics of it at:

Nothing special to the mounting, just used some hinges. Haven't had any problems with it, though the truck handles a bit differently with all that weight up there /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
