I've got Super Swamper SS radial tires, and I haven't been real good about rotating them regularly. The front two tires are worn evenly together, and the back two are worn evenly together and are less worn than the front two. I have a full size spare to throw into the mix that is about even or just slightly better than the rear two tires. They're all in pretty good shape, but I want to try to even things out.

What do you recommend I do in terms of rotation to try to even things out?

In the user manual for our trucks they recommend swapping in an X pattern.
Take the drivers front to passenger rear. If those tires are directional that makes it challenging having to unmount the rims etc. On my current DD, and duramax I just swap tires front to rear every other oil change(~10k)

They're not directional tires, thank goodness. With an X pattern, how do you introduce the spare? Just pick a corner and keep it the same?

I would try to find the best tire(most tread) and swap it. The spare I would leave a spare unless you can find another spare. :thumb:

It will depend on how much difference there is in the front and rear treads.

If there is a noticeable difference, driver front to passenger rear, passenger front to driver rear. Spare and driver rear to front, and passenger rear to spare.

If not much difference, go with Figure G.......http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/techpage.jsp?techid=43

The difference in treads on the rear could make the Detroit locker engage/disengage while driving and you'll hear the ratcheting. I know it can make a difference on air pressure so I'm guessing that different sizes in tire height from tread wear will do the same.

Good point. I forgot about that. I'll make sure to put the two front tires on the rear, and swap in the spare up front to start evening things out.
