I just picked up a 2005 Tahoe z71 4x4 , the tires on it are bad, i plan on light towing and definitely dirt road travel, snow and ice, it has 285/70/17
285/70-17 is a stock Jeep size. The bfg all terrain take-offs can be snagged up all the time from jeepers getting bigger tires.
Usually dirt cheap too.
Man prices are a killer… looks like about $300 each for the falken… i live in hills if anyone has ever been on shelf road in Colorado…. Curves and snow. Im definitely going to get quality, I looked on fb marketplace for take offs not much around here…
Man called big o and discount tire, both are 30 min or more discount was $1522 with 6ply and road hazard, big o cant get the 6 ply gett 10 ply price matched for $1524 and road hazard…
I really liked the bfg all terrains on several of my wife's vehicles. Most recent was an '08 awd yukon xl. Got close to 70k out of them doing a horrible job rotating. They were excellent in the snow.
Walmart is the answer. Falkens are $255, Nitto for $265 and Toyos for $270. I have been using them for several years now, cheaper than everyone and road Hazzard is as close as the next Walmart. Order online and pick up at the store or deliver to home.
Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT's. Love them on my Silverado.
Bit more budget you can run their off brand Mastercraft's AT's. I had a set of those on my previous Silverado and put over 70,000 miles on them with rotation every oil change. I expect to get that out of these at as well.
