tired of the drip drip drip from the transfer case

Overfilled or the tranny is pushing oil into the t-case :dunno:

He's got it right. My money is on the output seal of the trans case pushing atf into the t-case. If you pull the fill plug on the t-case and fluid comes out, it's overfilled. Check the trans fluid level next and I'd bet it is low.

well i think it just over full, cause there is no trany fluid in it.
other wise i have no clue. I did put a new seal in when i changed adapters

Try filling it up to only about 1" below the filler plug..sometimes heat will expand the gear oil and make the level too high and make it get forced out of the vent...my '72 K5 with a NP205 did that until I read somewhere the fluid needs room for expansion and they recommended leaving it an inch "low"...

My 241 has trans fluid and would push fluid out the top. The seal between them was bad. I pulled the xfer case and put a new seal in while the case was out split them and put some sealer on the case along with new seals in the case as well. No more leaks.

well i still had a drip so i climbed under and it looks like the speedo housing is leaking at the case.
is there an o-ring that goes there or a gasket

then that is a different leak point .

there is a seal or oring inside the adaptor that goes bad . and If I recall its not avalible new . someone posted up on this before .

if me I would just brake clean it all off dry and thin coat of rtv all around it and the cable housing end.

i will do this tomorrow, putting in my shackle bushings i got from lmc. they are poly bushings. been spraying it ith penetrating lube for a week 3 times a day to try and help get it lose. Thanks sweetk30
