Tires for Dante's Peak Suburban aka Big Red *Offer of Discount by company*

I've got a 4" lift and I'm still running the stock drivelines with no problems in my Suburban.

Here is 4 inches of lift. Oh btw did I say I am gravitationally challenged?

I think the one inch will be fine. Beside any thing I buy HAS to come from ORD :wink1:
 
I think a spring lift is easier to do than a body lift. If it was me I would rather do the 2 inch ord flip in the rear and 2 inch springs up front.
 
Also $$$$$$$ the 1 inch body lift is around $100 and then what a person charges to do it. I do not have any pockets on this. I am rushing a deadline of May 2014 to be complete.

Right now I owe $500 to my landlord for this trade and trip to Provo for cutting the rack and making a copy of some thing that is longer produced.
$100 for the rear tire/fuel can rack (haven't forgot you)
$2,500 for painting the truck
$125.00 for the snorkel
$80 trailer hitch
$120 for CARR light bar

So I still have to come up with that before I can even think about a lift. I have a debt I can never repay to Santa and his helpers too. That is why this has to be as close as I can get it to honor CK5 and to REPRESENT!

I hear ya. I think rear air shocks are a nice way to get a better stance on the cheap. Some people frown on them, but if your not wheeling they are fine.
 
Ok talked to COOPER Tire today about some rubber. Here are the options for tires.

The first is Mastercraft (made by Cooper) Courser MXT

The company's North American offices are in Ohio. As I always do I asked about discounted pricing but if they wanted to be a sponsor we would welcome them with open arms. The motorsports manager asked me to send him a press release. :popcorn:
 
I am sure we couldn't do this with a sponsored tire but if you end up buying or getting used I have a tire grooved we can use to maybe match empire up closer to the original tire
 
I went through a set of STT's on my last truck. Absolutely great tire. BUT they will look nothing like the tires on the Dante Sub. So much so that IMO it would change the look of the truck too much.

I know but the Goodyear tires are to much in cost. Here is what is on it now

That's the tough part. The directional tread will be almost impossible to match, but there are still options with minimal sidewall treading.

Sucks the Goodyears are too expensive. Grooving the sidewall lugs off a set of Pro Comps might be the closest but that would be tough.
 
I thought treadwright had offered something similar to the Goodyear MTR, but I can't find it now.

Wonder if they would make an exception to help restore a "historically significant" vehicle? ;)

I was working with Treadwright a little while back and got shanked. This kind of explains.....

Might just check the tires again and if they have a close one buy them for it. :dunno:
 
Don't think TreadWright makes the 33x12.5R15 any more.

Hankook's MT is kinda Chevronish and looks sorta like the old Goodyear MT.
 
The question is how old are they? I haven't seen the old style Mud Rovers listed in a good long while.

Idk, id run em though, sidewalls look good. My buckshots had horrible cracking around the tread and I never had an issue, even aired down to 10 all the time in the sand..


But I did just notice these are 35s.. So he prolly wouldn't want anyways.
