Im looking at larger tires. and i have plans to start making it out to a lot of these get togethers like Moab. Plus Colorado, lower south east, UP, silver lake, etc.
I've been looking at the Swamper IROKs just because they look awesome to me, and the one set I had seemed to work well in snow/mud which is all I have locally.

But it seems to me that a more all terrain like BFG radial TAs or something similar would be better on smooth rocks, and such.
I have no real world experience with this, so figured id ask the guys that do.
Truck will be road legal (here at least) but will be trailered to and from meet ups.

how large? rim size?

that's really a loaded question; what works in Moab might not work so well in the dunes and what works in the dunes might not work so well in the mud.

Not as worried about good in everything, as much as usable in most places.
I know the iroks are awesome in mud and snow, but do they slide right off of rocks,? etc. If so, then what's semi decent in snow bust will stick semi decent on some rocks. I know there's not one to beat all. But some of you guys have wheeled a lot of different terrain. What tires were horrible at something. Things like that.
I'm looking at like 38"-40" x12.5"-13.5"x 16. Only say 16 because that's what rims I have. I'm not so keen on keeping them though, so that's available to change.
I've been also looking at these but have never heard a thing about them.

Mountain trails could see rocks, mud, and snow in the same day lol

IROKs were made for the rocks. I have run IROKs on several rigs.

That's my first choice. Just hoped someone would say they work for other things lol

they are a very popular choice. probably be able to save some money by finding some used and trying them out.

I loved the ones I did have. But they were the bias ply ones, and I couldn't keep em balanced. That's why this time around I'm doing the radial version if I get em.

The iroks I have used and people I with with have used, have been a very good all around tire. But I will say, nothing sticks to muddy rocks lol.

I'm gonna have to pick up a set of 5.13s at some point too lol

I'm a fan of General Tire either the MT or AT. I've put a ton of miles on and off-road with them. That being said I have a set of BFG AT KO2 on my Ford F250 and I love how thye work in the snow/ice (pavement at least). My next square will have Nitto MT's if I can swing them. @Fastereddie has been running a set and they're impressive.

:doah:
I even went back and fixed something in that post and totally missed that it was all gibberish still lol.

Been happy with my bfg mud terrains. Granted we don’t get snow but when we did I had no issues. Great on the street and rain and no complaints in the rocks either. Helluva lot cheaper than $677/tire but only come in 17” wheel.

Checked out the MTs just now. Still like the aggressive look of intercos.
That's actually what drew me to the geolanders. They look mean and nasty lol.
There really seems to be a lack of that type. :dunno:
But I may have to step out of the looks area if theres a great do all.
