I recently inherited my Grandpas 85' 1 ton 2wd long bed 6.2 diesel, NOT a dually. I know there is many posts out there about the biggest tires that will fit a certain vehicle, but i couldnt find anything for this truck. So my question is, i have the stock wheels and was just given a set of 285 BFG All Terrain tires that will fit the stock wheel , but will there be enough clearance? It is atotally stock truck and not a dually. Any info woud be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You might be pushing it. Worse case scenario you will need to trim a little off the front fenders.

I'm thinking they should fit OK. I've got 31x10.50/15s on my stock 2wd '87 'burb, and there is a lot of extra room throughout travel and turning. I figure 32x11.50s will fit on mine without trimming, so the 285s will probably be fine on yours. It'll at least be fine to drive home on and then play with it to see if they'll rub at all.:D
