Hey guys!! If you've been watching my shop K5 build thread, you've already seen this, but if not, here it is!!

This is a modular style bumper setup, not only for shipping purposes, but I'm going to offer it for sale as individual pieces too:

1. There is a main beefy bracket system that attaches to the front framerails via 10 bolts (6 of 1/2" bolts and 4 of 7/16" bolts) and has a winch mounting plate capable of handling up to 12,000lb winches, including the new Warn Powerplant series. It is all 3/8" plate (other than two 1/4" gussets) and extremely heavy duty. At the front there are two plates with 1/2" nuts welded on the back and two plates with D-shackle tabs that bolt on to those, and together they "sandwich" the bumper center shell: (CAD rendering)

2. The "Center Shell" is fabricated from 3/16" and 1/4" plate and has large holes where it bolts on to the main bracket system, therefore allowing quite a bit of side-to-side and up-and-down movement to get it aligned properly to the body. It looks something like this when mounted to the main brackets:

3. Then there are the "Side Shells" that bolt on to the center section to make a complete bumper. They are also 3/16" and 1/4" plate. They wrap around the factory fenders, but don't go all the way to the edge of the wheelwell opening. This is in case you have trimmed your wheelwells for tire clearance. They do, however come close enough that if you aren't trimmed, it still looks decent:

Here are some real pics of the prototype we just finished...

1. The Mounting Bracketry with a Smittybilt 8k winch for mock-up purposes:

2. The Center Section Shell installed:

3. With the sides installed (not fully welded yet, just tacked together):

These will come fully welded but NOT ground, exceptions can be made but only through PM'ing me at first.
Pricing for a full setup will be starting at $700.00. I really should be getting just a little more for these given the time involved in making them, but I'm going to try and keep the pricing lower for you CK5 members :) I may also consider offering an option of a WIY (Weld-It-Yourself) kit in the near future.

Pricing for the individual pieces hasn't quite been set yet, but I'll get that figured out soon.

I'm going to start out with telling you that there will be a lead time of about 2 weeks for these, but I hope to get them into production soon to keep them on the shelf!

Winch mount is calling my name. With a bumper to be determined later. I absolutely LOVE that it ties back to the frame deeper in the rail. Just how close is it to the steering box? Wondering if it could be used as a basis for a steering box brace also? Mmmmmmmm?

It ties back into the two holes that your factory bumper's side brace attached to. It's pretty close to the steering box, the rear bolts actually fit almost behind the front of the steering box, but only a little tiny bit. The only problem I could see with making something to tie into the steering box bolts would be getting past the factory frame crossmember (these brackets fit on the inside of the frame rails). There is the one box bolt that is in front of the crossmember though, so that might be a possibility with less hassle. I'm not at the shop today, but I might swing by this weekend. I'll check it out in a little more detail when I can and let you know for sure.

CNC system is back up and running!!!! I'll have price a breakdown for each item very soon now! ...I'm starting to take orders now! ;)

--PRICING--

The TnA Modular Front Bumper System pricing is as follows:

  1. Bumper/Winch Mounting Bracketry: $250
  2. Center Shell: $175
  3. Outer Shells (2): $325
  4. Complete Bumper System at once: $700

These prices include all parts fully welded, but NOT ground and finished. This will allow the end user to weld additional parts to the bumper system if desired, modify things as they see fit, and finish it in any way they would like.
SHIPPING is NOT included in the above pricing, and the main bracket system weighs in pretty hefty being 3/8" plate. However, since it is modular nothing will have to ship truck freight so that should help out a bit with shipping costs.

any idea if it would fit a Warn 16.5 Ti?

Physically, Yes, that one will bolt in. HOWEVER, according to Warn's website, that particular winch needs to be mounted with the bolts facing forward, not down. Ramsey's 15k Patriot winch is designed to be mounted with the bolts down, and let me tell you that in order for that to happen, that winch is HEAVY!!!!!! The sides that the mounting bolts go into are massive cast pieces that are directly threaded (I have one on a friend's gooseneck trailer to pull a forklift onto). I think the Warn is still using a relief cast into them for a nut to be placed on these. But, again, I don't recommend anything over a 12k winch in this bumper. If you end up with a 15k or more winch in there and pull hard enough, you'll end up with a bent frame or much worse. Let's try to stick with 10k and 12k winches in these!!

SALE UNTIL BLAZER BASH!!

Okay, so I've been doing some thinking, and I decided that I really want to get more of these out there, so I'm going to put them on sale for a bit. Total package for $700 to CK5 members from now until Blazer Bash 2013!! (End of September)

AND..... that's not all! If anyone is going to be attending BB13, I'll let you have one for $650!!!!! Seriously!!!!!!

This is exactly what I need. I ordered package #1 yesterday. I'll make sure to get pics and details up when installed. :waytogo:

TnA, where exactly in Greely are you? I own a 77 Blazer with a reconfigured Smittybuilt front bumper that I can't seem to get to fit my 8k winch ... i am definitely interested in your #1 mounting system if I could somehow get my current bumper system to work with it and fit. Are you available for custom fab work? I will be in town around Thanksgiving as I am moving back to CO for good. I could forward you any pics of my current setup if that helps!

Thanks,
Mike
