Hey guys! Now that I'm finally back up and running, I thought I'd revive this product as there was some real interest in it before. I know that it seems like everyone has a shackle flip out there, but I don't know of any others with adjustability! Here is the latest CAD rendering of the design, with a shackle in there too. I'll be prototyping this ASAP on the shop K5 and I'll post some pics when I do. Once it's prototyped, I'll be able to figure pricing too. Also, keep checking back here for an adjustable front hanger for the rear springs to go along with this soon!! :D

One thing. ...hope you make the narrow portion of the shackle that attaches to the SF long enough so tha if you use the forward mounting holes and when you stuff that tire up in the wheel well, I would be weary that the point the shackle starts to flare out, it would make contact with the adjustable part of the bracket. Hope that makes sense. Other than that, great idea.

Great observation heavyleft! I was already thinking of changing the tapered portion a little to gain a hair more clearance under compression. Here is where the design stands now, with the shackle shown rotated until just before it would hit the upper bracket:

I think that should be plenty of motion, you don't want it actually going flat. The shackle length is 6.5", so if you figure that angle at max compression, then a similar angle at full droop, that yields a little over 11" of spring length change. Hopefully that will be enough, even for those with the flexy 64" spring swaps.

Well, I didn't get the shackles themselves made today, but I got the prototype flip brackets put together! Here they are:

They look good. What is the purpose of the slits at the mounting holes?

That's actually to save time and money with the plasma system. Every time the plasma has to "pierce" the metal, there is a chance that some molten metal will get onto the tip and screw it up. Once it's screwed up, it begins to cut horribly crooked, and that in turn messes up $$ in steel and time. The new plasma system I'm getting should be better about that (much newer technology) but it is still better for the system to do it in this way. And since I always supply front and back SAE Thru-Hardened steel washers with my products, there is no strength issue with doing it this way ;)

Have you gone any farther on these as far as build and pricing. Do they also use the same holes as the old hangers?

Thanks.

Yes, I have gone a little further with these, but I am waiting on my large bushing order to ship still. I am close to releasing them, but I can't until I get bushings. Apparently I ordered more than they had available on the shelf so I am waiting for them to mold my whole order right now. They should ship out in a couple weeks, I hope!
As far as the design goes, they look identical to the prototypes I built, with the exception of the shackle mounting area being a 1/2" wider, so that it can fit a 1/4" thick "washer" on either side of the shackle bushing to cover the other mounting holes that aren't being used. That's to keep dirt out of the bushings and give them 100% contact area on the sides. It also allows the shackle to fit up inside the bracket on extreme flex, up until the lower bolt hits at least.
Might as well release pricing now too:

PRICING:

Pricing for the Shackle Flip bracket alone will be starting at $165 (for the pair of course with mounting hardware)

Pricing for the Shackles themselves will be starting at $100 for a pair with bushings

NOTE* You would also be able to re-use your existing factory shackles (4" length) but you'd end up with less lift (approximately 2.5" or so, depending on how you set your shackle angle). I'll be making shackles in both a 4.5" and 6.5" variety too, so you'll have some options!

P.S. - I'm still working on an adjustable front spring hanger too, that will be coming out closer to when these are fully released! ;)
