ok when i bought this K5 it also came with a brand new set of body lift. never really did a body lift so i guess my question is...... is it really worth putting it on? any good things about them or bad things???

Personally I am not a fan of body lifts. They are a reasonably inexpensive way to lift you truck but usually look bad. You have to relocate some parts (fan shroud, lines) depending on the height you go. I have heard complaints about the center of gravity and sway on turns from some kits but have never experienced it myself. I think it boils down to how professional the install is done and how much lift is used.

My K5 had a 3" body lift when I got it. Was going to take it off but never got around to it. The rear 4 lift blocks poked through the floor, so now the rear sags 3". I'm pretty sure the mount behind the drivers seat is starting to come through too. Now I'm not saying this will happen to yours (mine is very rusty), I'm just letting you know that it happend to mine.

When I swap the pickup cab onto the frame, I probably won't use a body lift. Maybe a 1". But that would only be because I plan to run a 40" tire with stock 52" springs and a zero rate up front. If I can't get it all in there, I'll run a small body lift.

what size tires are you going to run? it may not be worth it to use the body lift. you could sell it. but if you have it and need it then run it

yeah this is a 3 inch body lift that has not been installed at all. it is still brand new in the box. problem i face is i am running 40" ground hawgs but i have the 8" lift. so i really am not sure i want to even use these. heck i might say to heck with it and throw them up for sale. not sure yet.

in that case dont run it, 8 inches is already alot of lift. if you need more room just trim some. but that would be to high IMO

Sell it. Pointless if you're not planning on running 44's or something...and folks here run those with a lot less lift than you have.

yeah that is kinda what i am thinking. the 8" of lift and then 3" body lift i think would be to much. think i will do some research and more than likely put them up for sale. they are brand new and have never been used, but i also want to make sure everything is there to before i sell them. thanks for the info guys i appreciate it. :wink1:
