to build or buy?

My blazer has a stock 350 with a tbi... needless to say i want to swap it out.. im doing it to get more hp i would like 300 to maybe 350.. some one told me i could get a 5.3 liter and chip it could better on fuel... so my question is should i build my 350 or swap it out.. this is my daly driver but id like more power. Thanks for any help.

You can't beat the LS 5.3 or 6.0 swap for power and reliability right out of the box. But, this is your DD and this swap is not an overnight deal.

The TBI can be modded to handle more engine, like if you built a nice 350 or 383, 400, etc... This may be an easier/faster swap but still requires research, parts, throttle body mods and custom chip burning.

So, do some research and weigh your options. And one thing to think about is your axle gearing. If your gears are too high for whatever tire size you may be running (ex. 3.08 with 33s) maybe a gear change is a better solution than an engine swap...
