What is the current consensus on dropping the t-case?

My application: 4" lift with 14BFF and D60 (in the works), 700R4 and 241 with a slip yoke. Lets say I am driving 75% on road, 25% off road.

Should I drop the t-case an inch to improve the rear driveshaft angles or will that hurt the front driveshaft angle too much? If I drop it, it will be 1"x2" rectangular tubing with something like 5/16" or 3/8" wall thickness, not the stock spacer deals.

Perhaps I should expand on my situation.

I actually have the t-case x-member dropped 1" right now temporarily because it won't clear the crappy custom dual exhaust the PO put on in the stock location I think I can move the exhaust up enough to clear, but if not, would it be worth it to swap in my other exhaust in order to keep the t-case x-member in the stock location? That exhaust probly won't clear my upcomming shackle flip and inboarded shocks. :doah::hack::doah:

keep it up, if youre doing enough wheeling to need a d60, youre gonna need as much belly clearance as you can get. also the frame can get stressed right there, not as much as with the stock spacers. im running around 8 inches without my tcase dropped. i think youre gonna be fine.

I dropped mine with only a 4" lift. D44/14bff/ 35s. I can imagine that the truck runs nice and smooth because of it.
