So I am at a crossroads with my Blazer. I havent been able to go out with it much since I got it about a year ago and the work is very slow. When I do get it finished though I wont be able to go out very often. There are few people that go and I dont feel safe taking it out alone. My thought was to sell the blazer and go back to an ATV like I had before. I can haul it easily with my 1/2 ton truck unlike my blazer, and if i roll it or break it while im out its easy to get flipped back over and into the truck. Also with gas prices already being "predicted" to $5.00 a gallon by summer the blazer will get driven even less, the ATV,s may be a cheaper option all around. What do yall think???

Oh and the blazer right now has a 52/56 swap, 14ff rear and 3/4 D44 front with 4.10's and 35's.

Oh and to get into the woods I still have a 97 Chevy 1500 2wd with a 4" lift I have debated putting a locker in.

No one can tell you what to do but looks to me like you know what to do and want the blessing from the brotherhood.
Trucks and ATV's are all fun, and they are all replaceable no matter what some here may say, if having it sit is bothering you and you know you can get the money from it to get into an ATV again, I say go for it, it's not like it's your only vehicle so why not.

There are a lot of us around the Springs. I predict this year will have a lot of off-roading. $5 gas..pshhh Not like you'll be driving it everyday. PLus, if you have a family, it's really hard to fit everyone on the ATV

I drive my diesel everyday too...until it warms up enough then the Harley comes out of hibernation

I've been wondering the same thing,..I like the idea of covered seating and the possibility of uncovered seating with the removeable top. I haven't gotten into the ATV craze yet,..but I have grandsons and they love going with me up into the high hills, so I will invest sharing with them the values of the great outdoors,...no matter what the gas prices. They're only young once,...then they grow up and choose their own path's.

This is true, I think I am going to keep the Blazer for now and see how things go over the next few years. Cant do much ATV wise anyways with our 4 month old son, but I can always strap him in a car seat and take off :woot:

i keep contemplating on parting my truck out.. to get some of the money back.. $750 a year and it sits there.. (insurance).. occassionally goes out.. but u know what. it is paid for.. not like my 08 silverado...

i have gone back and forth.. but remember that my brother sold his when he was 19 to pay for his wifes doctor bills (baby on the way).. now he regrets it highly... i have had my truck since 1988 and it has sat for many years.. 1997-2004 especially.. when i went up 15" and NJ changed their lift laws.. it was getting ready for rockwells and 53" michelins (53" boggers werent out yet)...

it is all up to you.. no one can tell you what to do...
change your living standards if it is about the gas bill... we always find ways to pay for what we need too....

if it is the getting stuck.. front and back winch...
if it is breaking.. carry enough main items to get you home... but a motor in the glove box will not be doable!!!

hope you chose wisely and dont regret any choice..

As Morpheus said previously...

You take the blue pill, the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe and go drive your blazer. You take the red pill, you stay in Wonderland, Watch others as they wheel their trucks and you just sit back on your 2 person max 4wheeler... Remember, all I'm offering is the truth, nothing more...
