If I wanted to change my governor on my tranny, can I replace it with a corvette governor with blue gear or does it have to be the standard one with green gear?

The 700 governors are identified by the weights and springs used to control shift points, gear color is irrelevant as gears came in green, blue, black and white. The lighter the spring and/or weights, the later the shift points. The Corvette governor uses some pretty light weights but very heavy springs and it is calibrated to work best with the unique valve body calibrations of the corvette 700R4. How much more RPM are you looking for?

I'm looking for more power higher rpm across bandwith. My motor is a high compression 5.7 L, 4 bolt main and I'm planning on changing gears to 373 or 410s and wanna put 31 in tires in place of my 33s. I'm looking to install a governor which will benefit my truck best.I heard the corvette governor might be good for what I'm looking for. The one that's in there now is the stock governor.

The stock C weight gas governor will get you about 4400-4600 at wide open throttle. If this is a stock heads, stock cam engine you wont be helping yourself much going for more RPM than that. Engine mods??

If you want you can send me the governor and I can bump it up a few hundred rpm for you, it takes about 5 minutes
