I have an 89 with stock axles and 3:42 gears. My brother in law has a truck he wants to geet rid of with a 1 ton rear and I'm not sure what the front end is but I know it's beefier than the 10 bolt with 3:73 gears. I can get these axles and the rest of the truck for $1000. I don't go off road or haul much. If I get the new axles, I can replace my leaf springs front and rear. My question is: Is it worth the money to swap the front and rears or are the stock ones good enough that changing the gears would be best. I have never done a swap so I need to find someone to do it. Bro-in-law says he'll help but he is not the most reliable. He has a decent set of rims and we both need new rubber and I would like to take it on vacation where I will need to some offroading to get to the campsite. Thanks for any help.
