todays ebay funny look inside

Well worth the money he is asking. It has the swaybar and spring hangers with it, that is why his starting bid is 999.

Just sent the guy this...

"Hey man, April fools is a little late. That is a D70HD, not a D60, and I can get them from junkyards around here for $100-$150 all day long. What's so special about yours that makes it worth $999? You don't even know if the brakes work. It wouldn't even be worth that price if it was New Old Stock in the crate, or a fresh rebuild with completely new gears and brakes."

Yeah, but his has the hard to find swaybar still attached. There is no way you can find a d70hd for 120 with everything he has to go with it.

We don't need no stinking sway bars! :D

You have to use them on a d70 rear, their weight is so high that it could cause dynamic rollover. I don't know why people take them off to begin with, they make a vehicle ride smoother, and gives you an extra 1" of clearance.

Because on a trail rig the sway bar would limit flex much like the one on the front. And yes I can get the axle for $125 and the sway bar for $25 at my junkyard that is right at $150. No way is that axle worth the same price as a 60 front:rolleyes:

Do you have any proof on this? What if someone wanted to use it under a camping rig that would be towing a heavy airstream? Why is flex important? Most successful off roaders rely on their ability to drive, not the vehicle.

I don't believe that unless I were to see it personally. I think the sellers asking price is relevant to the product he is selling. D70hd rears with the entire set up he has would sell all day long.

Welcome to SOCAL junkyards my friend. Rear axles like that are a dime a dozen in almost every yard down here.

But if you think it is a good price have at it I won't out bid you:rolleyes:

You must not be pulling it very fast. All the ones Ihave never towed would sway like crazy, and they were heavy.

I truly hope you're joking, there.

Anyway... I'd almost be willing to bet the guy just forgot a decimal and meant to start bidding at $9.99.
No one could possibly be dumb enough to pay a grand for a used light truck axle, could they? Even Rockwells don't go for that much.
