They both have them.
JB= $425 for flanged yoke, HD shaft, 32 spline, standard length
TW= $350 flanged yoke, stock shaft cut down with custom cut 28 spline, standard length

I'm happy with TW 208 SYE kit I have. I would love to save $75 bucks+ plus free shipping with TW. Is the "HD" shaft from JB really that necessary or stronger? (fully locked axles, soso easy driver)

If the JB setup still uses a 32 spline output, like my 208, I wonder if I can use my 208 yoke and save further money. Just not sure if it's the same length or if the bolt on the end will work. :dunno:

$2800 for an Atlas. :D I looked @ the 2 speed w/ 4.3 low:woot:but that's really pricey right now. Just looking to replace the 208 with my 241 and clock it flat. I'll end up with a spare 208 already set up perfectly.

What are the opinions in the room?

So you already have an NP208 with a slip yoke eliminator?

Martin

Than I see no reason to swap to an NP241 unless you break something.

hmmm
I'm swapping transmissions very soon and I already have a 241, so the swap isn't a big deal. Plus my clocking ring for whatever reason doesn't quite fit my 208, I haven't checked it on the 241 yet, but I sent it back to Kert to double check and said it was good. So I don't mind swapping them to get a slightly better T-case and low gear.

I think between the two t-cases the better one is the one you know works already. They are both aluminum and I believe have a similar low range.

If you want to do a SYE on the 241 I would not even think about using a "stock shaft cut down with custom cut 28 spline, standard length". Stick with the JB conversion kit that uses a NEW shaft that is still 32 spline.

I second that.

And then sell me your 208 sye :D

And wheres my A/F gauge dammit, lol

The doubler is nice, but if I went doubler, I'd prolly go th400. Not to mention both driveshafts would need modifying. Don't feel like doing that right now. I would more likely get an Atlas though, not sure why, just seems easier. :dunno:

I've had to apologize to three members so far, it's been chaotic lately. Really makes you enjoy sitting down, where no one can bother you, and take the daily deuce. :D

if memory serves, the 208 & 241 isnt exactly worlds apart. just run whatcha brung, until the atlas finds its way under your truck. less time building more time driving

Im at work so I can't search, but when you do a sye what do you do about the driveshaft? Do you remove the slip yoke and use a ujoint or does the rear shaft have to be redone?

Rear shaft will need to be re-done since it will now be longer

And of course the rear shaft will now have a slip joint in it.
