My 305 was running at about 215 degrees. I backflushed the system replaced the guage with a mechanical one and put in a 165 thermostat. Now it gets to about 160 during normal driving and 175 in stop and go with the A/C running. Is this an OK temp range or am I not letting it get warm enough?
Thanks

Proably too low if it has that mix solonoide carb. The temp will not be high enough for it to regulate the proper mixture. If you have a normal carb then it's fine. Only down side is your heater is not going to put out much.

Regular old Quadrajet carb with electric choke and no solonoide. I don't have any carpet in the blazer, so I get enough foot heat anyway. I put the 165 in because most of the year I run the AC, and do a lot of stop and go driving, and with the 195, the temp would get a little high.
