Too good to be true? Warn Hubs

these aren't the Warn Premium hubs, just the standard Warn design. They are decent and seem to be priced about right, maybe a little lower than some other places.

From what i remember, the only difference between teh regulars and the premiums are the material of the knob, correct? The internals are all the same?

hm, ok. I'm torn between upgrading and leaving my stock auto's.

I RARELY use 4wd, sometimes in the winter snow, so as long as the auto's keep working, i might as well not get out of the truck :)

But i am afraid they are gonna leave me stranded when they do break.

That last part is why I replaced the working ones in both my burbs... not worth the risk. I can leave it locked in when I know I need 4wd and just pull the lever, and take them out during the times I know I don't.

wow. Didn't realize how hot the market for these was. I'll hit you guys up when i decide to buy, with no real weather this winter, and a light boat to be pulling up ramps, i really am not worried about my auto's at this exact instant.

Thanks guys!

IMO, swap to locking hubs, even if the autos are still working. The autos will leave you in a bind when you need them the most. I DO NOT like or trust auto hubs. I've seen/had too many issues with them.

I checked out about 20 pages of other stuff that outfit is selling. Not much of it for K5s, other than Hi-Lifts & stuff like that. The prices weren't high or real good either. The prices for things I was familiar with weren't any better (or as good as) 4 wheel parts, etc.

once your stuck, the auto hubs will do you no good if you have not already engaged 4x4

with the warns or others, you can get out and lock the hub after you got stuck, with the auto you need to be in 4x4 before you get stuck!

not fun!
